Lisa Dettling is a Principal Economist in the Division of Research and Statistics at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, where she is part of a team responsible for analyzing the economics effects of fiscal policy and forecasting developments in the federal, state, and local government sectors. Her research is in labor and public economics, with a focus on domestic policy issues relating to families and household financial well-being. Her current work focuses on issues related to the economic determinants of fertility and household borrowing behavior. Her research has appeared in journals such as the American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies, and the Review of Financial Studies, and has been profiled in media outlets such as the Economist, the New York Times, and the Wall Street JournalDettling received a B.S. in Economics and Mathematics from The Ohio State University, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland.
